How closely does the Reacher TV series follow Lee Child's novels?

## One book per season

So far, Prime Video has adapted Killing Floor for Season 1, Bad Luck and Trouble for Season 2, and Persuader for Season 3. The show skips around the book series rather than following publication order.

## What stays the same

The core mysteries and conflicts are very recognizable. Season 1 keeps Margrave, Joe Reacher’s death, and the counterfeiting plot; Season 2 keeps the murdered 110th team members and missile conspiracy; Season 3 keeps the DEA undercover job, the Beck operation, and Reacher’s history with Quinn.

## What changes

The series moves stories into a modern setting, rearranges events, expands the team dynamic, and adds TV-only material. Season 2 especially gives Neagley and the old 110th more time and adds Detective Guy Russo, so it is faithful to the novel’s story without being a chapter-by-chapter copy.

## Separate versions

The novels, the Alan Ritchson series, and the Tom Cruise movies are separate continuities. A change in the show is an adaptation choice, not something that rewrites the book canon.
